Healthengine teams up with Google for online bookings

The online booking platform says the partnership will improve Australians’ access to healthcare.

Online booking platform Healthengine has announced a new feature developed in partnership with Google, designed to make booking appointments more convenient and efficient for patients.

‘Reserve with Google’ now integrates Healthengine’s technology, allowing a ‘Book Online’ button to appear directly on practice customers’ Google Business Profiles.

This integration streamlines the booking process by enabling patients to make appointments directly from their Google search results.

The feature is being rolled out this month in collaboration with Healthengine and will be available to healthcare practices across Australia.

Healthengine says the solution will drive patient growth by giving patients searching for local healthcare practitioners on Google Search or Maps a seamless path to book directly from a practice’s Google Business Profile. This can help to boost online visibility, reduce drop-offs and increase appointment volumes.

All bookings are handled with robust levels of encryption and privacy, and Healthengine has committed to “never pass patient data to Google through this integration”.

The feature will not attract additional subscription fees, however applicable usage fees will still apply for bookings made via Healthengine.

Healthengine CEO Dan Stinton said the integration with Google was a major development in improving access to healthcare for Australians.

“This integration with Google represents a significant step towards achieving that mission, giving practices a cutting-edge advantage to reach more patients and deliver an unparalleled booking experience,” he said.

“We’re proud to work with Google to bring this innovation to Australian healthcare.”
